MS Sedco- A Leader in Automatic Door Safety

When you’re leaving the grocery store with your arms loaded with groceries, you don’t think twice about the door. When you approach, it glides open and then automatically glides shut after you safely pass through.

Over 50 billion times a year in the United States, in hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, senior living facilities, universities and tens of thousands of other enterprises, an automatic door opens and closes. It happens so many times in our daily lives that we’ve come to take it for granted. They’re a convenience for some of us, but for people living with physical challenges they’re a necessity. Either way, we probably don’t stop to think about how much technology goes into the inner workings of these doors and how the stringent safety standards and rigorous inspection schedules that apply to these mechanisms help protect us and our families.

An organization called the American Association of Automatic Door Manufacturers (AAADM) has a lot to do with those standards and inspection schedules. Founded in 1994, AAADM is based in Cleveland, Ohio and its members are located across the United States.

Because of a strong commitment to safety and staying on the leading edge of industry trends, MS Sedco of Indianapolis, Indiana has been a member of AAADM for eighteen years. MS Sedco’s technical support specialist, Chad Popplewell, is not only certified as an inspector by AAADM– he is also a certified AAADM trainer. He recently returned from his “Train the Trainer” recertification in Ben Wheeler, Texas. As an AAADM Certified Trainer, Chad can conduct classes for other automatic door personnel who would like to become AAADM-certified inspectors.

MS Sedco manufactures the motion and presence sensors that open and close automatic doors for you every day. They are relentlessly committed to safety, precision, quality control, customer service and support.
